Folks in the group share interesting finds, get help from their peers, and post job listings within this group. Use the Facebook search tool to find our group: “Boise WordPress Meetup.” It’s a private group, but we’ll be quick to let you in as soon as you request to join.

Meetup.com

Stay in touch with other area WordPressers throughout the year via our in-person meetups. We meet once or twice a month; the schedule is posted on our Boise WordPress Meetup page.

Slack

We have a slack channel on the WordPress Boise slack. For those already on the WordPress Boise slack, the channel name is just #wordcamp.

What is Slack?

Slack is a communication tool used by the WordPress Boise community and the WordPress community at large. In addition to being able to directly message anyone who has an account, you can join a number of different “channels” to talk about specific topics. For example, WordCamp Boise has a channel on the WordPress Boise Slack to talk about WordCamp Boise-related things. As stated above, that channel is called #wordcamp.

How to join the conversation?

Joining the WordPress Boise Slack is fairly simple. But first, decide how you want to access Slack.

  1. There’s a web app,
  2. Apps for both Android and iOS phones,
  3. And native apps for both Windows andMac.

Once you decide how you’re going to view Slack, you’ll need to do the following:

  1. Request to join WordCamp Boise’s #wordcamp channel via this form.
  2. You should receive an email with “Russell Fair has invited you to join a Slack workspace” as the subject line. (Russell is one of our co-organizers.) Click the “Join Now” button.
  3. Follow the prompts to join the Slack workspace called wpboise. You will automatically be added to the #wordcamp channel.
